Sharing thoughts out loud…
It's my preference to make content when I plan for it, when I can do my pre-filming routine. Tea, maybe CBD, a workout or yoga, getting started at a reasonable hour to make the most of the light…
You'd think turning the camera on and getting a few pics or vids isn't a sport you need to warm up for... but for me, it is. I like to get in the zone, warm up my body. It just feels better!
But on the other hand, sometimes the light is great or I'm having a good hair day or someone requests something quick. It's very tempting to take a "quick" photo or vid, thinking I can go without the pre-filming routine.
I am often glad I have the content, capturing how I looked that day. But it just doesn't feel as good in my body, and I often have to do extra work to release tension, if I create content in this way. Is it worth it? 🤔
I have gotten less tense making content over time, finding ways to make it feel better. So that's good progress!
In the end, it would be my preference to basically always do a pre-filming routine, and not make content otherwise. Maybe eventually I will find more tools to feel more at ease making content, and possibly be able to do more spur of the moment/spontaneous stuff (and have it feel just as good!). But I really do think the routine helps a lot
