How we feel throughout our day is sometimes related to the expectation we place on ourselves
Do you have more fun, or feel more relaxed on days where you have less on the check list, less expectation, less pressure? I've found that often seems to be the case for myself
So, i want to try and learn to go easy on myself. Set the bar low. Especially with work! I can get my knickers in a twist being perfectionist, not taking breaks, or just feeling a lot of weight on my shoulders (body standards, perfectionism, the "body focus" of this industry...i could go on)
You would think it wouldn't be that deep taking photos of myself naked in my living room, but it goes deep lol. It's not just me and my demons, but that of society and this industry too. But i'm here to keep fighting! And to learn to express myself with confidence, and ease. I feel there is a way, because I am making progress.
Learning how to express oneself authentically... dismantling/letting go of inner thought processes or "voices" that hold us back rather than set us free. It's a process and it can be tough at times. But i do feel a drive, purpose, or meaning... to bring some authentic expression to this industry. To show it can be done.
In my life i've sometimes not known how to express myself. I've censored myself, or worried I was boring or not enough. These days I am finding my voice, learning to give myself what I need... listen to my inner voice. And find new ways of approaching this work, and beyond, with grace, kindness and boldness!
You are human, You need rest and support sometimes. You will not be perfect. Imperfect is great. Sometimes we gotta keep telling ourselves these things, and slowly but surely it may sink in.
