A truly breathtaking sight. The Fiordo di Furore is a stunning and unique fjord located on the Amalfi Coast in southern Italy. Despite its name, it’s not a true fjord (which is typically carved by glaciers); instead, it’s a deep gorge created by the Schiato River, which carved its way through the cliffs before emptying into the sea.What Makes It Special?1. Dramatic Scenery – The fjord is flanked by steep limestone cliffs, creating a hidden cove with crystal-clear water.2. Secluded Beach – At the bottom of the fjord lies a tiny, picturesque beach.3. Historic Fishing Village – A few old fishermen’s houses, once home to local workers, still cling to the cliffs, giving it a fairy-tale feel.4. Iconic Bridge – A 30-meter-high stone bridge (part of the Amalfi Drive) spans the fjord, offering breathtaking views.5. Diving Spot – Every year, the bridge hosts a cliff diving competition, attracting elite divers from around the world.How to Visit?• You can reach the Fiordo di Furore by car via the SS163 Amalfitana road, with stairs leading down to the beach.• It’s also accessible by boat or kayak, offering a unique view from the sea.• The best time to visit is early morning or off-season, as it can get crowded during peak summer months.
