Thought I would walk y’all through a few spots along my trip in Death Valley. We drove in mid day, braved the sun (hot, even in November), then posted up near the Sand Dunes, where we tent-camped and rose with the sun for a nude shoot in the incredible sand dunes. We got back to our camp after a quick, unforgettable shoot, cooked breakfast and coffee, and then made our way to Alabama Hills. Death Valley feels just that - unforgiving. A potentially dangerous place if you find yourself without supplies. This is the Badwater Basin - the lowest point in North America, at 282 feet below sea level. It’s a surreal landscape of vast salt flats. And this isn’t snow. It’s a thick layer of salt from rain and minerals dissolved from rocks that have drained to lower elevations. After thousands of years of this, enough salts have settled here at the bottom of the continent to create this surreal environment. LOWEST POINT IN NORTH AMERICA! I definitely felt my breathing was challenged here.
