Added 2021-05-10 04:29:18 +0000 UTCSunday Story-Time! This is not a weekly theme because I lack the structure to do anything routinely (lol). But let's try this out for a day. So a couple of summer's ago, I did a road trip from TX to San Diego. It was an incredible adventure! But... I broke my toe... Getting out of bed... 15 minutes before an epic guided hike in Sedona, AZ. I didn't realize I broke it until I was out on the hike, and had to stop because of the pain. I took off my shoe and well, there was no way to get the shoe back on after that. I'll spare you the details... I hobbled back 2 miles fighting back tears. I opted to self treat it with some tape, ice, and tequila (I knew damn well the ER would be a waste of time and money). The pain was bad, but having this happen mid trip was worse. I wasn't able to see Sedona on foot, but I wanted to salvage the experience... so I booked a sunrise hot air balloon ride the following morning. I was gonna see the beauty of Sedona one way or another... Sometimes you just gotta roll with what life throws at you, and make it work the best you can. Here are a few highlights from some footage I found. It really doesn't do it justice, but if you ever have a chance to do a hot air balloon ride in Sedona, I highly recommend! EDIT: omg a very important part of this story: the winds changed and we had to make an emergency landing in the middle of a highway. FUN STUFF!
